Sustainable & inclusive travel

We believe travel should benefit the places and people you visit, and be open to everyone. Here is how we run responsible, inclusive safaris in Tanzania, and how you can help.

Tanzania's plastic bag ban

Plastic carrier bags are banned in Tanzania. Pack clean, see-through zip-lock bags only for toiletries and liquids, and use fabric or paper bags for shopping. Bring a refillable water bottle; we can refill it on safari.

Our commitments

  • Inclusion: we design trips for travellers with disabilities and seniors, and campaign for better access in lodges and parks.
  • Local people: we employ local guides and drivers and work with locally owned lodges and suppliers.
  • Wildlife first: our guides keep a respectful distance, stay on authorised tracks and never crowd animals.
  • Lower impact: sensible routing to avoid unnecessary driving, and refillable water instead of single-use bottles wherever possible.
  • Recognition: we are members of Ecotourism Kenya and ENAT, the European Network for Accessible Tourism, and received a Kenya Wildlife Service Certificate of Appreciation in 2026 for inclusive wildlife tourism.

How you can help

  • Bring reusable bags and bottles
  • Buy crafts directly from local artisans
  • Ask before photographing people
  • Tip guides and lodge staff fairly

Frequently asked questions

Can I bring plastic bags to Tanzania?

No. Plastic carrier bags are banned. Clear zip-lock bags for toiletries are generally accepted; use reusable fabric bags for everything else.

Is accessible travel part of sustainable tourism?

Yes. Making travel open to people with disabilities and older travellers is a core part of responsible tourism, and it is at the heart of everything we do.
